This anthology follows the zombie universe established by George A. Romero. This book consists of all types of different stories about things happening during the zombie apocalypse. It's full of originality that I haven't read in other zombie fiction. Maybe it has something to do of when it came out - Romero was pushing the envelope by always having a point in his horror with social commentary. This book is full of that which in my opinion is a great thing. Plenty of graphic gore with the zombies chowing down, but it is a little graphic with it's sexual content. I honestly can't remember a time when I've felt that a book should have had a rating or warning, but maybe the introduction or forward could have warned the readers regarding specifically the sexual content. This is a fabulous read and super scary, just be warned about the sex stuff!

Had this book years ago but lost it, I was glad to find it and at a good price very happy
I love short stories, and I love zombie stories, so this book is a natural fit for me. There are some good stores in here, and some great stories. Overall, I'm a huge fan of this book.
This is a highly unusual collection of horror. At least a couple of the stories in the collection "A Sad Last Love At The Diner Of The Damned" and "Across The Cadillac Desert With Dead People", are cult classics. The rest are at least well written and interesting. This is, however, out of print and somewhat hard to find. Also, beware, it is an extremely graphic and gory collection in terms of horrific, and sometimes sexual, content.
Not one long story about some zombie apocalypse but more like a bunch of stories about personal encounters and things. This was a GREAT quick read on an afternoon flight
I borrowed this book a number of years ago from a college buddy- despite some of the A-List contributors, its existence was news to me (guess I don't actually read that much horror fiction). Anyway, after casually reading it for about a week, I found myself looking for something to use as a weapon or a barricade anytime I heard a noise. I've searched for my own copy ever since, but it's out of print and the title's been used more than once. If you're reading this, you owe it to yourself to snatch up a used copy as cheap as you can, maybe loan it to a friend when you're done. Like any anthology, it contains a few duds, but the good stuff totally eclipses those.
I used to own this book about fifteen years ago. It was the only book I've ever wished I still had. When I saw it online, I bought it fast. It was inexpensive, in ok condition considering it's a used book and almost 25 years old. Pages were yellowed, there was a mark or two on the pages, but overall in ok condition.

The stories range from classic zombie "canon" to outright bizarre. Don't get me wrong, the bizarre stories aren't bad. Just odd. But hey, still one of the best collection of books about the undead I've ever read. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested in the topic.
